When did Yahoo 360 shut down?
Yeah. Then.
It was there that I first dipped my toes in the blog waters and found them to be delightfully warm and refreshing. The blogging community was mostly close-knit and supportive. I'm still friends with many of the bloggers I met back in those days. Yahoo didn't know what a good thing it had when it shuttered 360's doors.
I kind of floundered around after that. I tried blogging on myspace and a couple of other sites, but that sense of community just wasn't there, so the blogs stopped. I still wrote - songs, chapters of novels I haven't finished, plays, poems - you name it. But not that personal, "here's what's on my mind / you'll never guess what happened to me today / have you ever wondered ...?" type of writing.
I decided earlier this year to start a graphic design blog under my professional Google account. You know: helping shape your online presence, presenting yourself as a credible resource in your field ...all that good stuff. Thing is, it reminded me just how much I love blogging. I started thinking that maybe I should do it again.
So here I sit at midnight, writing my first post in years. After spending all evening working on that header graphic, I really could have gone straight to bed. But I couldn't bear that nice, clean page just sitting there empty except for those two lonely words: No Posts.

| Nothing to see here, folks. Just a blog page with no blogs on it. Go on home now. |
And now the next steps will take me to my wonderful bed. Yes, dear bed, I hear you calling me. I am coming to you.
Good night all. And look out - there'll be more posts to come soon, cuz Abby's at it again. ;)
